Telephone and Video Chat

Telephone and Video Chat Service

Remote training and advice from Bark and Ride

Since social distancing has become normal I have had some requests for help with training dogs.

This, of course, is difficult when you can’t enter someone’s house and handle the dog!

I have found that telephone and video calls can be effective and the below is a recent success story!

A new client had a series of telephone consultations for her rescue dog, Maisey (7 months old)

Below are before and after photos kindly shared by my customer and lovely review!

Maisey Before

Client feedback:

This review from Maisey's Mum shows how worthwhile sessions can be, even if they have to be remotely held.

Despite having dogs in my life since the age of 6, I don’t think I was mentally prepared for my latest dog; a 7-month-old rescue from Bosnia who I’ve named Maisey.

I was sideswiped by the ‘forgotten’ intensity of a pup, despite having had dogs nearly all my life – let’s face it, we all grow older with our companions until the time you have a new friend to share your life with, and you just plain and simply forget the energy you need for pups!

Throw into that mixture a traumatised rescue dog with issues, and I was panicking – despite previous experience with traumatised rescues.  And then I was put in touch with Simon!

Primarily; and most importantly; his calm, kind, and understanding personality shone through immediately.  I was instantly put at ease, gently reminded that there will be good days as well as bad and that even with the bad occurrences I can turn these around and use them to mine and Maisey’s advantage – use them as a teaching tool.  I was able to calmly discuss all scenarios with no pressure – it was a two-way conversation that I genuinely knew Simon was considering carefully before answering, and that I wasn’t just receiving ‘stock textbook’ answers.  He fully took into account both mine and Maisey’s personalities.

I’ve learned some very useful tips and tools for both myself and Maisey to grow and develop with.  We started using these tips that same night and the very next day we had 100% success!! It’s been four days since we spoke and we’ve had 100% success on three of those four days.  I know it won’t be like this every single day; obviously; but more importantly, I felt after speaking with Simon that’s ok, it’s not a problem.

In this all too often harsh world, to be able to speak with someone as sensitive and attuned as Simon is a pure tonic for both two-legged and four-legged creatures!  Thank you, Simon!

Maisey before:

Her ears pinned back flat, cowering, very timid, frightened and scared.

Maisey after:

After consultations, training regimes and patience Maisey is a much more confident and happy dog.

See the big smile on her face now!
